Whole School Projects
All of our children, from Nursery to Year 6, will be diving into the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland as part of an exciting cross-curricular adventure.
In English, each year group will be focusing on a different chapter of Alice in Wonderland, with age-appropriate writing tasks designed to develop creativity and literacy skills. Whether it’s retelling Alice’s curious journey, imagining new characters, or crafting fantastical settings, our students will have plenty of opportunities to let their imaginations run wild!
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! In Design and Technology, we are continuing our fantastic partnership with the Royal Opera House. This term, the focus will be on set design inspired by the magical scenes of Alice in Wonderland. Our budding designers will explore how to bring the story to life on stage, learning the ins and outs of creating captivating sets.
We’ve already kicked things off with a whole school screening of the Alice in Wonderland movie, and the children are buzzing with ideas! We encourage you to explore the story further with your children at home—whether it’s reading the book, watching adaptations, or simply discussing their favourite characters.
And of course, we couldn’t forget Micah, our school rabbit, who’s eagerly anticipating an Alice in Wonderland dress-up day in the near future—he might even make an appearance as the White Rabbit! 🐇
We look forward to sharing more updates on this magical project soon.

Difference Primary
As mentioned in our previous newsletter, we are delighted to announce that on our return to school after half-term, we will be starting the pilot of Difference Primary, a special project for the Archbishop of Canterbury.
During our first week back, every afternoon will be dedicated to this engaging and thoughtful program. The Archbishop’s office has provided us with fun, interactive resources designed to help children explore key themes of inclusivity, respect, kindness, compassion and making a positive difference in the world. Our staff have already received training, and we are excited to bring this valuable program to life with our students.
We encourage you to talk with your children about what they learn throughout the week and ask them to share their thoughts and experiences. Your feedback and any interesting responses from the children will be incredibly valuable, as we look forward to sharing our journey with the Archbishop’s office.
We can’t wait to get started and see how this wonderful initiative inspires our school community.

Remembrance Day Celebrations
On Monday 11th November, we will be commemorating Remembrance Day with a special whole school assembly. During this assembly, we will introduce the children to images of D-Day Veterans and share their remarkable stories, helping the children reflect on the importance of remembering those who served.
Following this, our Year 6 students will have the opportunity to take part in a workshop, where they will delve deeper into the stories of more veterans and have a chance to see some artefacts from that time. We are incredibly grateful to a member of our school community who has generously offered to share his extensive knowledge with us. It is a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn from someone with such expertise.
On this day, children are invited to wear their Brownie, Guides, or Scout uniforms if they are part of these organisations, as a mark of respect for those who have served.
We look forward to marking this important day together as a school community.
